Feng Shui. More Than A Leap of Faith.

This lunar month is the perfect time to take a leap of faith and rewrite your story. Cast aside all resistance and invite your imagination to leap into what makes you happy. Tell yourself at the May 22 new moon you will take the leap of faith and receive that raise (add a bright light to the front door and clear the entry of clutter); buy your dream home (no toilet in the center nor stairs out the front door); meet your beloved (change your hairstyle often)… Anything you’ve been longing for is possible to manifest. Because according to the Chinese lunar calendar every three years there is a small Leap year and every five a big Leap year. Due to the exceptional characteristics of this year, regardless of the Zodiac animal, the luck is likely to be favorable this lunar month. In fact the luck is breaking records for everyone. It’s a good time to get married (ask me for auspicious dates); relocate (there’s a divination we could do); start a new business (timing is everything); purchase real estate (I would be delighted to advise on the location and floor plans); make investments (enhance Knowledge/Gen gua); break ground (ceremonies create a smooth start) or start new construction (I have tips on how to minimize setbacks). There is no limit what you can do. To help you enhance your bank account and add more good luck from the stars, I am sharing “Kissing the Stone” (mythical money cure) and good luck cures to energize your Ch’i as we continue our Covid-19 journey together.

When a frog comes into your life it’s a sign of transformation and may well spark many wonderful opportunities. In ancient China the frog represented the lunar yin and the Frog spirit Ch’ing-Wa Sheng was associated with healing and good fortune in business. Tradition has it that the Chinese god of wealth, the immortal Liu Hai, kept a three-legged toad as a pet. It is a symbol for riches and often pictured with a gold coin in its mouth.

Ch’an chi, the Money Frog
A fortune frog or money frog, is a mythical three-legged frog with red eyes and blazing nostrils. It carries a coin in its mouth and sits upon a pile of gold coins or Chinese cash with a string of coins at its feet or a crown around its head. The coin has a good fortune symbol and faces up to attract wealth and the crown or string of coins around its feet offers protection from misfortune. The coin in the mouth of the toad, specializes in calling forth wealth and it is said to be calling out to other coins. Legend says the creature emerges on the full moon to sit by the door of people with wealth and good fortune headed their way. The myth goes on to say the toad loves money and treasures.

Look for the following characteristics when buying the Lucky Money Toad:
Red eyes
Three legs
Seven star formation on its back
Five-Luck Coin of Emperor Qianlong in its mouth
Sitting upon coins or golden nuggets

You can place the Three Legged Toad either in your home or office. Either place it in the Wealth gua of the home or office, or you can place it in the Wealth gua of your office desk.
Here is the secret within the secret:
Every day during the day, place the toad facing the main door. Visualize that the toad is going out during the day to seek wealth and bring it home. Every night at night, face the toad into the home or office. Visualize that the toad is returning with lots of money. It is important to commit to this secret movement every day. Otherwise, you lose money (Professor Thomas Lin Yun). Adding a ruby (or red stone) in the middle of the ancient coin in the toad’s mouth symbolizes “kissing the stone”, a homonym for “sure profit.”

Good Luck Cures
• Change Your Ch’i Type: If you are constantly in a bad mood change this by wearing a solid color of green.

• Adjust the Effects of a Bad Experience: Carry nine round pieces of orange peel for twenty-seven days to soften the effects of a bad experience.

• Taken Advantage of: If you feel you are being taken advantage of, carry the three dimensional zodiac animals.

• Refocus Your Energy: If your luck is not good, every 9, 18 or 27 days, change some aspect of your furniture arrangement. You are changing the Ch’i using the sense of touch. Your Ch’i will be refocused and awakened.

• Continued Bad Luck: If you have completed the Feng Shui above and still encountering bad luck, perform good deeds without expecting a reward. Be sincere, you will never be disappointed.

January 17 New Moon. Trust The Magic Of Beginnings.

Many cultures believe that birds are a symbol of eternal life and the link between heaven and earth. So I’ve chosen to highlight the Swan instead of the current Chinese Zodiac animal for the January 17 new moon because they walk on the earth, swim in the sea and soar into the sky. In essence they demonstrate freedom and that best describes my decision. I’ve enjoyed bringing Heaven’s message every month but this is my swan song new moon blog. I say adieu and trust the magic of beginnings as I trust you will too. 

Bite Into Spring! Lichun starts February 3 this year. The “Chinese 7-11’s are serving up chunbing, otherwise known as “spring pancakes,” chewy tortilla-like wrappings that are filled with fresh seasonal vegetables (ike luobo, radishes and jicai, shepherd’s purse). The snack is traditionally eaten on Lichun, a holiday that falls on the 4th and 5th of February, and marks the beginning of spring. The expression “yao chun” isn’t just savvy 7-11 marketing—it’s a traditional saying that refers to both embracing spring and using vegetable nutrition to prevent illness. It’s believed that once you “bite into spring,” you won’t feel tired for the rest of the season!”

February 4, 2018, make sure you have your radishes handy! Rat: it’s an auspicious six harmony month. Everyone in your household besides you will experience safety and auspiciousness. You have lucky stars and there will be joyful celebrations bringing good luck to your doorstep. You will have lots of Helpful People come to your aid. If you are in politics or actively employed expect a promotion. All your endeavors will be smooth and prosperous. Ox: misfortune and auspiciousness are of equal proportion this month. December 17 New Moon. Be The Difference.

December 17 new moon, enter Ox. Ox folks embody endurance, honesty and diligence. True to their strength, they take on hardship anytime and anywhere. We have the opportunity to glean from their Tao of resilience and fortitude for our own winter survival. And though we may be distracted with new year anticipation, let’s keep the tempo with Ox advice this December 17 new moon: keep your focus and be the difference! Always generous, Ox is gifting us with super-strength for our super power because as Ox would say, “The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.”

In January we struggle between leaving holiday mode and new year work demands; it’s possible to be caught in a clash. But before you end up in bed this December 17 new moon try this cure to strengthen your immune system. Within a 99 day period change the furniture three times. Or rearrange the furniture every 27 days, for three consecutive times. When you do it that way it will take a total of 81 days. It wakes up the Ch’i and removes any stale or blocked energy. And if you are already drained from a difficult work environment try this method. Before going to bed, peel an orange in one piece. It gets you to breath deeply and focus so you don’t break the peel. After this visualize the room is filled with the scent of the orange. Oranges signify abundance. The citrus aroma cleanses your etheric field and releases stale Ch’i. The transcendental meaning: oranges bring good luck and good fortune for it (chéng zi) sounds like gold (Jin) in the Chinese language. Everyday for nine days, peel one orange and leave the peel somewhere in the room. At the end of nine days you can dispose of the peels. You can eat the fruit everyday. You can also do the cure in your car if you are distracted a lot of the time and your distraction created an automobile accident. Do it in your office to avoid petty people coming around. Put the peels in your office drawer. And always, always set your intention.

November 18 Leave Your Comfort Zone.

Great things never came from a comfort zone. Nelson Mandela, South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist, was living proof all his life. Setting the example for acting with purpose and passion, he tipped the scales in social inequality. The November 18 new moon ushered in the quick-witted, social conscious Rat. Rats are yin water by nature. They have a refined intuitive sense about people and the workings of the Universe and they use these highly developed skills to speak up for causes that create a better world.

Clever, resourceful and eloquently convincing the Rat used these traits to win a very important race. He knew he was no physical match for the other animals so he convinced the ox to carry him. In exchange he sang to the ox. When they crossed the river and arrived onto the bank the ox honestly believed he had won but the wily Rat jumped in front of him. Feng Shui Tips That Keep Your Head Above Water

October 20 new moon, curious, passionate, humanitarian Pig stepped onto the horizon. Amazingly patient and strong willed, they root through challenges without fear. When they put their mind onto a troublesome situation they stay with it until resolved. A shui (water) animal their keen resilience and survival instincts help them persevere in difficult situations.

Natural disasters have overwhelmed our trust in the future but we have a champion to lead us into new territory. A super curious zodiac sign, develop your super power of curiosity, in particular, the pursuit of new knowledge (a favorite Pig pastime). Chinese winter will begin November 7. Nourish your Ch’i until February 16, 2018 (Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dog) with Feng Shui tips that keep your head above water.

Stay hydrated. Eat dark foods like black beans, black sesame seeds and black walnuts. Include foods from water like fish, shellfish, seaweed and kelp. Eat soup or drink broth. The Kidney is your natal battery and the root that fulfills your deepest needs: survival and reproduction. When Kidney Ch’i is strong, you are clear and able to articulate your thoughts and feelings. Life’s transitions are more easily processed.

Address stress in your life. Kidney Ch’i becomes easily depleted by stress. Practice any one of the following: Tai Ch’i, Qigong, yoga and meditation. Making time for water activities like a quiet bath will benefit your Kidney Ch’i and restore your equilibrium.

Confront life situations where you are fearful. Fear is the lower emotion of Water/Kidney Ch’i. Journal daily. Examine where you feel you need to be right. Make a commitment to live consciously and in the present moment.

Balance rest with work and daily activities will boost your vitality. Adequate sleep nourishes your Kidney Ch’i. Arrange the Feng Shui in your bedroom to help your body let down and rejuvenate. Place your bed in command position to the bedroom door. Remove unnecessary electrical equipment to eliminate electromagnetic energy. Choose bed linen colors that are health sustaining like green and soft blue.

Add nine plants to your front entry. Plants are life force and vivify your Ch’i. In Feng Shui, the front door, the mouth of Ch’i, represents your career, reputation, Helpful People and health.

Beauty is the clay that the Rabbit uses to shape their vessel. Their refined social nature may take them to an afternoon at an art museum, converse with the literati at a familiar haunt or use their prodigious healing skill to attend to the needy. Wherever they are, whatever they do, grace surrounds them. One of their outstanding qualities is their keen emotional nature. It enables them to detect the climate of others which gives them an adeptness in their dealings. Rabbit has a love of decorating their home, they may peruse vintage stores looking for that one special treasure to add to the antiquity and esoterica that embellish their surroundings.

Because the sweet bunny is in the hot seat with the Year God, it brings awareness to reflection and something new this year, adaptation to whatever challenges appear. In fact, self-reflection is a super power for Rabbit. It creates space to adapt to any given situation. Think of it too as your super power when making important life-work decisions, achieving your goals or dealing with disappointment. Imagine your home inviting graceful change and then let your troubles melt away.

March the ground is thawing, the ice cracking and the noble sky is unveiling Spring messages. Resist the urge to stay in the rabbit hole. Give yourself the edge. The solar system has news you can use. Rat: a Mutually Offensive month misfortune overcomes auspiciousness. Don’t get into matches with others, refrain from disputes and stay away from gossip or you will find scoundrels in your life. Maintain calm and find your peace spot within. A month to clean up your attitudes – feeling sorry for yourself and being picky. Ox: be steady and take precaution in all your endeavors. Take to routine like a duck to water. Refrain from indulging in acting cranky and impatient. Take one step at a time and all will be sorted in the end. Money will come as you wish and health will be good. Tiger: your luck is fair this month but be aware that there will be as much joy and there is sorrow. Be conservative and keep a low profile. Do not compete with others, avoid talking behind people’s back and arguments. Rabbit: your luck will fluctuate this month. You may find that there is opposition to your will with scoundrels getting in your way. You may experience unexpected disasters and do not take money from ill-gotten gains. Dragon: this is a confrontational month. Events do not turn out as you plan and there is disharmony. Avoid entanglements with scoundrels. Eat clean foods, illness finds it way through the mouth. Snake: business and work will be favorable, however remain industrious and get along with your co-workers. Be patient with your family and friends. Take on more social activities and relax. Only then will you get rid of unhappiness. Horse: there is the yin and the yang this month. A smooth path with hurdles to cross. Matters appear to be going well and then they change direction and conflict with arguments arise. Ram: your financial luck will come easily but still remain conservative. Stability is the best strategy. Do not be greedy where others are concerned. Monkey: the luck of the month will be on even keel but there will be obstacles to surmount too. Be cautious when making investments. If there are disputes among family members look to yourself before casting blame. Find methods that calm your spirit and keep a low profile. Rooster: the month is mutually offensive and confrontational. You will find yourself blocked, there is interpersonal disharmony and marital disputes. If you are confronted be patient and tolerant with others. Remember to refrain from letting your temper explode; keep the goal of harmony in your sights. Dog: your money luck is good for investing in stocks. “However be cautious in selecting your targets for investing.” Don’t be an opportunist. Pig: with Spring is the radiance of the flowers and so is your luck. During this peace filled month it will be a good time to advance. Be objective with your judgement otherwise you may draw the wrong conclusions.

September 30 the “selfless before selfie” Chinese Zodiac animal wagged its way onto the horizon. Every month the leading zodiac holds a super power that can help us expand our awareness and reach our full potential. Dog has a multitude of exemplar traits so which do we choose? Its friendly nature? Faithful character? Smart brain? Straightforward manner? Venerable composure? Responsible attitude? Or is it our four footed friends’ “bow wow practice” that they have mastered so effortlessly? Bowing to the divine in their owners and feeling the wow of devotion. This simple act of expressing unconditional love creates strong bonds and gratifying relationships that can help you through difficult times. And maybe too that caring about what happens to another is all you need to feel good throughout the day. Be mindful that others may see through your schemes. Tiger: it’s a Three Harmony month!  Your luck will be auspicious. Wealth will be available but do not be greedy.
