New Year. New Story.

“Tap the power inside yourself so that it may show up on the outside in what you say, what you do and how you do it.”

Rise Up In The Year of the Fire Rooster.

The Chinese New Year is the most propitious event of the year that welcomes a fresh start. During the first weeks, the year is still unformed, impressionable and receptive to our intentions, expectations and wide-eyed guidance from our dreams. But how do we maintain our enthusiasm throughout the year? If you are like me and feel you see quicker results when your goals are nurtured with inspiration and diligence, I have a Chinese secret for you. Some years ago Professor Lin Yun, Master of BTB Feng Shui, taught his students there are three elements needed to master success. Deceptively simple yet very powerful these three aspects are: time, location and human factors. Throughout the year I write about the influence of location – Feng Shui on human factors. But once a year I present on “time”  – Chinese Astrology. It’s my belief by sharing the Chinese Zodiac animals’ forecast it will spark a yin-yang balance and help you make accurate decisions on when to make your best move, when to rest and when to let your light shine.

Rat Thank your lucky stars that you have them because this new year you are in a mutually offensive relationship with the Rooster. These lucky stars will avert the bad luck present and steer you towards good fortune. Though your money luck will be fair, your acquisition of it can only be obtain through conventional means. It is not a year to speculate. You may experience a series of small illnesses but they do not cause you harm. The male Rat will not have as good of luck as the female Rat. Family harmony will be good. You will have Helpful People come to your assistance and work will be smooth but be mindful that scoundrels may be working behind your back to cause trouble. Be aware of “Peach Blossom Menace” (relationships with the opposite sex may lead to negative and harmful influences) and “Peach Blossom Disaster”  (circumstances could lead to injury, even bloodshed). Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; leap month, July 23- August 21; August 22-September 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Ox you will enjoy the auspicious luck of the Golden Triangle with the Rooster. There is a good chance for a promotion and advancement leading to a higher position and greater power this new year. Academic pursuits are favored and careers will see breakthroughs. Your wealth luck is good; but expect to receive it through conventional means. It is a year that you will be able to hold on to your fortune. There may be some health issues. Learn methods to relax your physical body and your mind. Scoundrels may be afoot, check your back and do not socialize with individuals of questionable character. Remember a harmonious family leads to success of everything. There will be obstacles to making money so much that you may have to sell your assets. There will be one circumstance after another–work turmoil, disputes, projects falling short of completion and scoundrels causing trouble behind your back– that you may throw up your hands. However your love life will be stable and your health will be good. It is a year, dear Hare to remain conservative, passive, modest and cautious. Be wise and play safe. You can perform “The Golden Cicada Sheds It’s Shell” beginning Chinese Lunar New Year’s eve for three consecutive nights but if you missed this opportunity you can do it at the new moon for the next 11 months. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21; October 20-November 17 and November 18-December 17.

Dragon You are in an auspicious position. Being Rooster’s “secret friend” gives you special status and the enjoyment of good luck this new year. And there are lucky stars in the ascendent. You will enjoy prosperity in all your professional endeavors and helpful people are readily available to assist you. It is a good time to map out your professional ambition and pursue it, start a new career, get married or relocate. However the flip side is some ill possibilities. Watch your health as you might overdo and be discerning with social functions, you may end up exhausting yourself. Your financial luck will come from conventional methods. Be cautious when investing and whom you befriend. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23, July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Snake You have the luck of the Three Harmony in the Year of the Rooster. Not only will your enterprises go as you wish but opportunities will be plentiful and helpful people will be available while fame and profited are expected. The flip side there will be discord in interpersonal relationships and and mental/physical fatigue from the pressures above. Your financial luck is pretty good. Remember to live within your means. Good lunar months are: February 26- March 27;  May 26-June-23; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19; and January 17-February 15.

Horse in a Rooster year will find their fortune fluctuating. You will experience highs and lows and life will feel unpredictable. It will be difficult to finish projects that are started. Be sincere in your efforts and have patience if circumstances become delayed. Luck for wealth sources will abound and it might be that you receive unexpected fortune. In regards to relationships and your emotions it could be a bumpy ride. Rabbit men be aware of women’s working behind your back and Peach Blossom Menace. There may be entanglement and false rumors. Be discerning about associating with those who have ill intent. Older Horses seek immediate medical attention when you become sick. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; June 24-July 22; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19 and November 18-December 17.

Ram unfortunately you will experience more misfortune than good luck. The road ahead is full of encumbrances and uncertainties. There could be injuries, there could be death with a family member(s). However your social contacts will be a bright spot. You will feel bathed in the light of friendship and camaraderie with helpful people nearby to assist you. Develop your leadership capabilities. Rely on your capabilities. Practice patience and be forgiving. If you focus on stability and harmony you will experience peace. Be mindful of your family’s health conditions. If someone gets sick, seek immediate medical attention. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25;  May 26-June-23; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21 and November 18-December 17.

Monkey for you the year will have more difficulty than lucky circumstances. This is due to a lack of lucky stars. Main advise is be vigilant, misfortune could be around the corner. Travel will be on your agenda and lots of it. There might be legal disputes while you are on the road. Office politics might be pulling you in. Men beware of sex traps. Keep your nose out of any situation that smells like trouble. Good advise for the year is remain cautious, let your good judgement not your emotions guide your decisions. Be discerning when it comes to right and wrong, favor and detriment. It is a blessed year to get married, give birth, get promoted and have helpful people help you. Do not however switch careers. As far as resources, be conservative, cut your spending. Your one word mantra for the year, patience. Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23, June 24-July 23; July 23-August 21; September 20-October 19;  December 18-January 16 and January 17-February 15.

Rooster you are sitting in the Year God’s seat, it will be a hot seat. As you share the same zodiac as the year, it is considered clashing of the signs and your endeavors will not receive favor. “Even with all the lucky stars and powerful gods, there are just too many demons and evil forces out there to counter attack.” There are unexpected events, there may be bloodshed. Pay extra attention to your health and beware of accidents. Some Roosters who are officials will receive recognition while others who are on the payroll will receive financial luck. To appease the calamities of the year perform Appeasing the Tai Sui and Golden Cicada for three nights in a row beginning with Lunar New Year’s eve. If you missed this opportunity you can perform it every new moon until the end of the Year of the Fire Rooster. Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; May 26-June-23; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Dog the saying goes, “The Golden Rooster fights against the Jade Dog.” The Dog and Rooster are the most conflicting pairs. Watch out for robbery, financial loss, illness, trouble with the government , verbal dispute and gossip. Some residual health issues may trouble you or you may experience a prolonged illness. Your career shows a bright spot on the horizon and helpful people will come to your aid. Be patient, go with the flow, there may a punch or two but deflect them as a prize fighter deflects a right hook. To avert danger and increase safety, perform the Golden Cicada for three nights in a row beginning with Lunar New Year’s eve. If you missed this opportunity you can perform it every new moon until the end of the Year of the Fire Rooster. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; February 26-March 27; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23; July 23- August 21; November 18-December 17 and December 18-January 16.

Pig It is a year of feeling stabilized. There is a star called the Courier Horse, it influences travel. You can expect to have a full itinerary this year. You may get involved with work projects that do not bear results, pay attention when this begins to happen. Your work or your work situation or something at work could change. Be conservative in your finances as your money luck is not promising this year. “During the months of April and July there may be bloodshed,” so beware on the look out for traffic accidents and unlucky events. Pig is usually a fortunate sign. Remain low key and collect your resources so you will have them when the occasion arises. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25;  February 26-March 27; March 28-April 25; May 26-June-23; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21; November 18-December 17; December 18-January 16 and January 17-February 15

“Busy Making Plans” Become Priceless Surprises

“Life happens when you are busy making plans.”
John Lennon

My “busy making plans” was to write a space blessing blog. But this was abruptly tabled last Wednesday when in high density traffic my car was rear ended. The explosion of breaking glass and the helpless feeling that my car was out of my control served to intensify the fear that it was moving without my volition, straight towards an unsuspecting Nissan directly in our path. I say our path, my little Shih Tzu, Coco was my passenger. Moments like these wipe out the sparkle of a friend’s laughter just hours before and the dinner I was cooking in my head. Time eerily stood still. No past. No future. Just the pounding in my ears and the slow motion of my brain trying to comprehend the whirlwind around me while my body ached for safety. By God’s grace it stopped. When the smoke cleared and the damage assessed, the cost was apparent: irreparable automobile loss. The upside, no life was lost: priceless.

Accidents have an uncanny way of rattling your routine. But beyond their inconvenience, powerful truths can emerge like the phoenix rising from the ash. Inside this blog I share “five graces” that have deepened my appreciation for life plus I am passing along two life-saving “Driving Safely Cure” you will definitely want to protect your car.

Detour from plans that keep you busy, slow down. My “busy making plans” for the evening: eat dinner, connect on Facebook and write. But the force of two cars colliding changed all of that. The impact wasn’t just metal crushing metal, this collision impacted my consciousness too. Since the accident I have become acutely aware of another force, a spiritual force of healing I have not felt in this way before. What has arisen is a force of forgiveness and deep gratitude that all involved are here to laugh and hug our loved ones again.

Watch for grace, even when circumstances appear unfavorable. Val stopped her car behind the driver who caused the accident. She may have had plans that evening but her heart told her this was where she needed to be. She kept the other driver company amid the wind and din of traffic. She took him to the hospital after his car was towed and said she would return for me if I needed her. Her compassion lessened the strain of our ordeal.

Expect there is love for you when life explodes into chaos. All of us are doing our best. The outpouring of care and concern and love and advice from family and friends has greatly eased the emotional trauma of this unfortunate occurrence.

Pray for what you want, not for what you see. I would never wish for an accident. And despite the material loss of time and personal transportation, those are incidental to the big picture of what an accident teaches – letting go. If you can let go of controlling the outcome and let your prayers be the standard for what you want, what you see will be the best possible outcome.

Take the high road, even though your circumstances have turned upside down. Throughout this ordeal I have come to appreciate how systems work and the people who serve those systems. I’ve learned the efficiency of our municipal processes in emergency situations and how insurance companies get our lives back on track. And most important I continually am reminded of my attitude and how it influences all of this coming together easily (or not). I attribute this to the philosophy of alignment, Feng Shui.

I am deeply grateful to H. H. Lin Yun for his supreme wisdom for extending Feng Shui beyond the four walls of our home. The “Driving Safely Cures”I perform on every car I have owned. These cures cast a field of protection in and around my automobile. In my heart I know their power prevented an extended trip to the hospital and much worse, a casualty. I want you to receive this protection too! Here are two “Driving Safely Cures” I used on my automobile.

Driving Safely Cure no. 1: Red String on the Steering Wheel
What you need:
9 inches of red string or red ribbon (or a multiple of nine inches)
Procedure:
Place the string under the mattress for nine nights. On the day after the ninth night, tie the string to the steering wheel. Say a prayer from your tradition and visualize the car and its occupants are safe.

Driving Safely Cure no. 2: Crystal Ball
What you need:
1 faceted lead crystal ball, 40mm
9 inches of red ribbon or red string (or a multiple of nine inches)
Procedure: Using a piece of red ribbon or string (cut in a multiple of nine inches), hang a crystal ball from the rear view mirror. Say a prayer from your tradition and visualize that the crystal ball is both absorbing and reflecting the light of Buddha and/or all the auspicious light in the universe. Visualize that the car and its occupants are safe.

Feng Shui Breakthrough To Happiness

“Happiness is the highest form of health.”
H.H. The Dalai Lama

Grace contacted me in the early spring of this year, she shared that an intuitive friend suggested she have a Feng Shui consultation. “Current issues in the house may have impacted my health and changes could support regaining my energy.” We talked and she revealed that the previous owners had divorced and the husband had died of cancer. Grace shared about herself that she has always been an optimistic woman and loves to decorate her homes. She had made cosmetic changes to her current house, painted the walls, refinished the floors, updated the kitchen, landscaped the yard but she couldn’t shake the uneasiness of vertigo that left her with poor balance, extreme fatigue, depression and not feeling in her body. When I came to the consultation she disclosed her western doctor wanted to perform exploratory surgery on her left breast. She was not happy about it.

Even before I walked in the door, the lot diagram and the floor plan told me a person living here, unless they had an exceedingly strong constitution, would encounter a health crisis. In the Chinese language  “4” sounds like death and the street numbers contained a 4. She had removed the master bathroom door that was connected to the master bedroom thus creating an “empty door” and her digestive issues flared. After a series of vertigo attacks she sought the help of an ND who advised her to make diet changes to address the dizziness. The head of her bed backed up to the stove which adversely affects the physical health of the brain. The corner of a wall from the home office to the hallway creates a “split view” and can create illness along the midline, confusion and the inability to make decisions. Grace’s gut was the key to addressing the vertigo but feeling like herself was taking longer than she wanted and she was feeling depressed. Many doors in a small space create digestive issues. There were at least five markers in her home that suggested her conditions and for her it became a health crisis. The final note: Grace had a painting in the center, the Health gua, that is visible upon entering the house. The composition and color mirrored the grief, distress and hopelessness that was overshadowing her life. By the time she called me she was ready to listen to her “gut” and change her situation. She embraced the cures with humor and courage and here is what she wrote three months later.

“Just wanting you to know how delighted I am as I make my way through the house with the cures. It’s taking time, but it seems to be working. Last weekend I was on the coast and bought a big splurge painting — haven’t done this in 40 years literally! When I brought it home, I was not just needing to remove the painting you suggested should not be in my entry but to rip almost everything off the walls — like a crazy woman, so different from the typical me. I was totally compelled to do this in such a strong and irresistable way that I couldn’t believe it. All this to say it feels so light and open from inside my chest. The new painting is a wonder to me, all movement and joy (impressionistic wave) with lovely light colors. I simply feel lifted every time I look at it. So this house is getting little facelifts and cures left and right in a kind of claiming it that is deeper than ever before. There’s more to do, but I’m pecking away at it.

Oh, did I mention that I feel 100% better. I have a Chinese practitioner and a new naturopath, and what they’ve done has been phenomenal, but I consider the house energies, the Feng Shui, being free to circulate as they should a huge contributor to my improved health. So, once again, thank you!!”

If you are experiencing health issues, I want you to have the opportunity to change that around. Here is one of my favorite cures handed down from H.H. Lin Yun. Hang a 50mm crystal from a red cord in the center of the bedroom. It has a clarifying effect on your mind. It is helpful if your bed is not in a good placement in the bedroom. In particular it will help your health. Visualize you maintain good health and if a problem arises you receive an intuitive message before anything serious arises.

The seen and the unseen are both relevant to your home, your choices and your sense of peace. Give equal value to influence of each one and your life will seek its level of balance.

Investing In The Wise Counsel And Comfort Of Your Kitchen

“The kitchen really is the castle itself. This is where we spend our happiest moments and where we find the joy of being a family.”
Mario Batali

On a recent Dr. OZ segment, a financial adviser shared how as a young married man he tackled money issues “When my wife and I were first married we would have ‘kitchen table talks’. We came to an agreement that any item we wanted to purchase that was over $25 dollars we consulted the other.” The kitchen, like no other room in the house, helps us to focus on family, it is the heartbeat of the home.

Though texting while dining on fast food have preempted meal time, the kitchen, according to Feng Shui principles, still has the most influence on our good health, family harmony and fortune. It is here we prepare meals, smooth over hurt feelings, children share secrets with mom and the family enjoys happy moments. The space of wise counsel and comfort, this room invites having real conversations. The strength of this bonding time helps us to walk with our heads held high across the threshold and out into the world.

Do you feel your kitchen could use some extra love? I am delighted to share these nine fresh Feng Shui fixes (with emphasis on the stove), to help you get started on nourishing your space.

The stove is the key to family prosperity and harmony. It has a significant role as wealth generator, creating family unity and keeping us free from legal trouble. When we lovingly prepare our food it nurtures us, our lives become fuller and we manage what life delivers with ease and grace.

Stove in command position. If you are standing at the stove and facing a wall then you must turn your head left or right to see what is going on behind you. This takes you off balance. Over time your body will conform to this unconscious posture that influences your attitude where you may feel out of control and ill at ease. You may experience a downturn in finances or plain bad luck. In regards to the stove placement, you want to see what is going on behind you by placing a mirror on the wall in front of you. It should be the width of the stove and ideally doesn’t cut off the top of the tallest person in the household when you look into the mirror. Some stoves have a microwave above then place a convex mirror (which takes in a 160 degree view). Visualize your heart trouble resolving and an upswing in your finances.

Stove seen from the front door. Or is the first thing you see when you enter the house. Family problems may not be resolved. There may be accidents involving blood, blood disease or surgery.

Stove under a microwave or collection of pots. The ability to make money will be oppressed. Either remove the microwave and pots or hang a wind chime over the position where the cook stands at the stove.

Stove in line with two doors, one on either side. Members of the family may argue a lot, especially about money. And their fortune may diminish. Adjust this inauspicious placement by hanging a 40 mm faceted crystal or wind chime on both sides of the stove between the door and the stove.

Stove in a corner. The cook cannot move around the stove very easily. This affects the quality of food and family finances. The occupants may be limited in career choices and opportunities. Mirror the wall to the side of the stove and visualize that the space is expanding and the Ch’i flows more easily.

The Work Triangle If you follow this arrangement then fire and water placement do not become an issue.

Stove and refrigerator placement. Contrary to what you may have heard, the refrigerator has a motor that generates heat, it is not a cooled water element. This does not present a problem to the stove. Best placement for the sink is across from the stove not adjacent.

Kitchen placement. The best placement for the kitchen is behind the midline of the house. Too close to the front door and a parent may be eating in someone’s kitchen. This placement threatens the family’s stability.

Kitchen color. Select pleasing colors according to your home’s palette and your personal aesthetics but keep these Feng Shui and Five Element principles in mind while choosing. According to H. H. Lin Yun white is the best color for the kitchen. It shows off the colors of the food. White, the color of the Metal element, is compatible with the kitchen’s basic element fire (fire overcomes or melts metal). Avoid all black kitchens because black, the water element, destroys fire. Do not choose red or there will be too much heat and the cook will always be hot tempered. Red and black accents are fine. Apple green is a color that signifies hope and the vitality of spring.

Her House Not Only Talked, Her Feng Shui Got The Last Word.

“A house is very much like a portrait, it gives an indication of the character at the heart of it.”
–Anonymous

“Your House Is Talking!” is an metaphor I use to explain the impact architectural details have on our health, family, career, happiness and degree of success. It never occurred to me that I might have the pleasure of hearing that a client’s house actually talked, let alone getting the last word. Dee called me last November and explained her home was a Feng Shui nightmare. She said, “Don’t get me wrong. I love my house. It sits on a quiet street, has a lot of light and the yard is a bird sanctuary but I cannot make out the Feng Shui. I need help!” I came over and saw straight from the curb the issues she was facing. Missing street numbers, missing front door from the street and the master bedroom three feet from the front door entry to the house. She admitted she was feeling vulnerable with this last arrangement and was losing sleep.“Could we make it work?” She really detested the idea of moving her bedroom upstairs. She also confided that she didn’t feel welcomed in the neighborhood. I could see in her eyes this was her dream home and the relationship wasn’t off to a good start. She had found my Chinese New Year segment on KATU AMNW and felt confident I could guide her out of her Feng Shui mess. She believed in Feng Shui and knew she needed my assistance but also yearned for reassurance that Feng Shui would be the answer. I assured her the changes would be reasonable, efficient and help her feel at peace. She nodded, took notes and as we moved through each room became more and more confident how Feng Shui would help her. When we finished she was beaming.

Whether it was her excitement to see the magic of Feng Shui work or the consultation inspired her to be her most creative, or both, Dee was zealous. She was proud of her accomplishments. She shared stories that were funny and amazing like after painting the bedroom and bathroom (her wealth gua) she received a lucrative contract for her business.

Dee worked tirelessly too, to make her home “Feng Shui” ready for the holidays. In celebration she invited her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren over for a little party. During the festivities, Matt, a big, husky guy, was standing in the kitchen and noticed the wind chime over her stove. As she told it, he screwed up his face, mimicking a comic he had seen on T.V. and said, “Oh, Feng Shui is stupid!” As quickly as he said it, a thunderous clap shook the entire house. He ducked, looked about frantically as if the walls would come down over him and said, “I promise, I won’t say that again.” Dee is a petite, demure woman with a wry sense of humor. And though she knew the house sent a message to Matt, she added with a shake of her finger, “Don’t you go saying bad about my Feng Shui.”

Since this episode and my January follow up, Dee’s neighbors have cleaned up the jungle in their back yard and she became treasurer of the neighborhood association. She planned to refinance her house to a lower rate which meant having her home appraised. She completed all the rituals at 11 p.m. which corresponded to Chinese New Year ceremonies as well. As she described it, “Orange peels were everywhere. I was given a target and hit it out of the ball park which I owe much to you, so thank you again!” Her next agenda item is to triplicate the success and I will consult for her on her new office which is the realization of her goal to work in the city in which she lives. Dee’s story is anyone’s story and a great story: she moved into a home with Feng Shui design challenges but with perseverance, enthusiasm, TLC and Feng Shui cures, she’s feeling happy and right at home.

Epilogue:
H. H. Lin Yun would teach that every object, utensil, appliance, every furnishing in our homes are animate. “Every thing in the house and every part of the house has its own spirituality. This is true of every piece of furniture, and every system in the house.” So here is a ritual to perform in your home. “Touch the stove and visualize that the God of the Stove has become aware of you and raises its head to look at you. The God is “energized.” Then request the God of the Stove to bestow blessings upon your family, that everything you require will be made available and your resources will be abundant. You can do the same for the God of the Desk and ask for blessings for your career and that your dedication to your work will yield fruitful results. Go to the God of the Bed, touch it and visualize it listens to your request. You can ask for more restful nights or good health. If you have clutter, you can tell the object you are sending it on and thank it for serving you well. This precept gives you access to communicating with the Gods wherever you may travel, albeit your home town or a far away land. When you energize these Gods, in turn they will offer you abundant good energy.

Closing The Gap On Joy.

“If you make joy your goal, you are eternally joyful.” – Abraham

Do you love treasure hunts? Here is a pretty special one about Joy that I am excited to share with you and I think you’ll be excited too. I was searching the internet and came across Abraham and Ester Hicks. Their work is well known but up to now it had been in the background for me. I found one of their Q&A videos. I clicked. Flashes of truth appeared on the screen. Brilliant like a diamond, the talk encapsulated this phrase, “our reason for being is joy”. This time it really came home (literally)! Now at my house, Joy and Happiness have come to play and I am having the most delicious time. Joy is open, receptive, expanding and allowing. Happiness embraces “Yes!” Like Botticelli’s Venus, her presence uplifts. But it is not her emergence from the sea of emotions but from the senses that makes her presence most felt. I recalled H.H. “Professor” Lin’s immortal teaching, “We have 100 hundred senses in our body and Feng Shui helps us to open up to them.” Another piece of the Feng Shui puzzle landed in its rightful place–live your highest potential when you create mirror-like resonance between your senses, space, Feng Shui and Joy.

Closing the gap. Abraham shares we will always be in a place of wanting. It is our inherent nature. It creates a life of expansion. Our part is to experience joy by matching our energy vibration to the things we want to experience. How do we close the gap? First admit the wanting creates anxiety. You ruminate and worry, “I want it but will I get it? I don’t have it yet but I want it…” relax into the dance until it manifests. But if you cannot and your thoughts are in a spin, know it will create resistance and push your desire away. Quelling your anxiety to receive what you want can be supported when you create a Feng Shui umbrella over your home. Where there is a blocking wall at the front door (limitations), create space with a mirror. Where there is a stairway in the middle of the house, (fluctuating health and finances) lift the Ch’i with a wind chime. Feeling good is the path to your desires. When you take your difficult design details out of the anxiety equation, you are poised to send laser-like focus to what you truly desire and care about and this has joyful side effects.

One more word. Well being flows from Joy and visa versa. A home where the Ch’i has been adjusted expands awareness, creates calm and supports your well being. The interconnectedness of well being, Joy and Feng Shui shine through a beautiful home that delights your senses. What more could you ask for than living in an oasis for Joy to expand.

But if Joy evades you.  Though I would love for you to feel Joy, there may come a time when you don’t quite know how to resolve a problem or you are overwhelmed by a crisis. Go to the Center (of your home). The eight trigrams of the Bagua were created as a representation of the thousands of things in the universe. However they cannot manage to cover everything. So, what is not covered, is in the center. Go there to find what you cannot find anywhere else. If, for example, you are having an issue with your oldest daughter and your not quite certain whether to place an adjustment in Tui (Children) gua or Hsun (Wealth) gua which represents the oldest daughter, remember the following: If you are not sure about the appropriate gua, or if you want to be “totally covered”, adjust the center as well. If something cannot be resolved, the t’ai ch’i also faces outward to all the trigrams. In this way you may find the answer. Herein lies the poetry of Feng Shui and the effectiveness of its wisdom will get you through.
