Feng Shui Miracles

“Always throw split salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck and fall in love whenever you can.”
– Unknown

Eighteen years ago Feng Shui opened my eyes to a world of energy that lies below our awareness yet has the power to impact our environment, our relationships, our attitude and our future. It also produces miracles when nurtured. How do I know? Barbara’s story tells it best.

Barbara had fallen in love with a craftsman style home here in Portland and wanted to get started right away on aligning the energy with her lifestyle. Before the sale was finalized she requested a Feng Shui consultation. I gave her ideas about her home’s design but before I left we stepped into the backyard. I saw the entangled Ch’i from the previous owner’s neglect: the dark, overgrown vegetation; broken, rotting fence and the presence of hungry ghosts.

Aware of how it looked she wasn’t aware of what it meant and when I shared this, her eyes got very big. Instead of reacting Barbara dug in (literally for ten months) to do what she needed to create the paradise she envisioned. Once she moved she asked me to return to perform space blessings. I brought my ceremonial bowl, rituals, mantras, prayers and she supplied the high proof liquor, the rice, the special powders and the intention to bless her property. Together we made what we call in BTB Feng Shui “sacred food” to feed the “hungry ghosts” because Barbara was determined to start on the right foot.

We walked the property, chanted blessings and offered sacred food all the while asking the spirits to be well fed and leave, or stay and be helpful friends. Pretty uneventful until we stepped into the backyard where I tripped on “air”, the bowl flipped out of my hands and the rice went flying. A trickster hungry ghost had no intention of leaving. Fortunately we retrieved most of the rice, I got my composure back and we persevered. It nearly happened a second time. This was definitely a tenacious spirit. After we completed the ceremonies, I suggested that Barbara perform this same one over the next two days to strengthen the work we had done.

Before I continue I believe it’s important to share a synchronous moment prior to my arrival. As I was driving to Barbara’s home a crow flew alongside my car at my head height for a good distance. After I left the consultation, I consulted the I-Ching and shared with Barbara what I had received: Hexagram 27, what Willhelm Baynes calls“The Corners of the Mouth” (Toltec I-Ching calls it “Trusting Intuition”)
The Judgement explained:
The corners of the mouth.
Perseverance brings good fortune.
Pay heed to the providing of nourishment.
And to what a man seeks
To fill his own mouth with.

Crows are shape shifters, their presence helped us shape shift the land. Barbara replied. “There was a really big energy shift right after I finished the last ceremony yesterday and in the morning crows were in in my front yard eating the rice! I got the sense they were taking it to another dimension, helping to shift and transform the energies.”

Over the months Barbara and her husband nourished the land with blessing ceremonies, cleared gnarly areas, removed invasive species, installed a new fence, met with the neighbors and planted their dream garden. Throughout they resolved to keep their hearts in the right place, be good stewards and be a positive influence for the neighborhood.

And it worked!
Ten months later here are a few of what Barbara calls her “miracles”and what Feng Shui  would call “good fortune”. “We felt a huge shift once we put the plants in the area where the blueberries are. We met the owner of the apartments and it turns out we have a lot in common and he’s very much on board for cleaning up. During the time we were out of town, he removed the trees along the fence line and cleared out the brambly mess. He thought he might put up a storage shed but also mentioned selling the property. He told us it was his health that has kept him working on it. Another miracle: is before we moved here I wished that a yoga studio would be walking distance from my house. A new yoga studio opened nearby! And so far, I’ve liked every teacher. And it’s a few minutes walk from my house!”

I never underestimate the power of Nature to communicate and that all we need to do is open our hearts to Ch’i and listen with my eyes to discover miracles.

Happy Summer Solstice! May summer hold miracles for you.

March 27 New Moon. Summoning Magic!

“Stop playing small. You are divinity in motion.”
– Deepak Chopra

Each season has its brand of magic. Spring’s is the alchemy of advancing hidden potential as its relentless new growth awakens humans and creatures to the vital symphony that animates all of existence. It is no wonder that March 27 new moon a powerful creature has stepped on the Zodiac horizon. A mythical hydra that can summon the waters of heaven. A divine being that inspires awe, emanates benevolence and accomplishes great deeds. Enter the Dragon. A risk taker by nature, the legendary Dragon is unwaveringly honest, doesn’t flinch at challenges and will do what it takes to accomplish their mission.

If your dream has stalled due to unforeseen circumstances or just plain procrastination, emulate Dragon’s magic – turn your fear into invincibility and fire up your passion. Make these your dual-charged super powers. Find a mountain and give over time for contemplating the leafing of spring and the power of the rock on which you rest. Allow these moments of reverie with Dragon (his symbols) to inspire you to imagine flying the skies and lassoing your rainbow down to grounded success.

Chinese dragons don’t breathe fire, they summon the rain. Invite the vast cosmos to rain its secrets on you. Rat: your bad luck has blown away with the March winds. This month fortune is turning in your favor! Seize good opportunities to start a business, make an investment, purchase real estate, get married and/or travel afar. All your endeavors will be on the mark and effortless. Ox: the luck is mutually offensive sweet bovine. Legal entanglement may be trying to sneak into your back door so have your cures up. There is the possibility of loss of money, your health depleted and obstacles, it is suggested to keep a low profile. Be conservative this month. Swallow your saliva three times before you speak. Tiger: the people you meet may seem like contrarians. Avoid getting into fights or a dispute. Do not act roughly or with intolerance. Instead act with peace of mind and face your problems calmly. On the romantic side, if you are in a relationship you may expect a closer step to the aisle, even discuss getting married. Rabbit: lots of confrontation for you this month, sweet Rabbit. There are inauspicious stars so be mindful and be careful not to be falsely accused or framed. Keep your eyes peeled on potential money loss. Not a good time to make investments, relocate, change jobs or relocate. Exercise patience. Dragon: be conservative with investments and signing contracts so you won’t be robbed of your assets. If you have a minor illness, go to the doctor right away. Do one good deed daily and you will be rewarded for averting bad luck. Snake: this month your luck will fluctuate. This month will be a mix of worry and joyousness. Avoid confrontations at work. Men, be advised to stay away from casinos or nightclubs with hostesses. Horse: the light is shining throughout the clouds. Relationships between men and woman should be approached logically. Exert caution when choosing a partner or you might find yourself in a predicament from which you cannot extricate yourself. Ram: luck of the month is mutually offensive. If you get wrapped up with scoundrels they could cause you financial loss. Do not gossip or have verbal disputes. Best that you remain calm for the next 28 days. Monkey: it’s an auspicious three harmony luck month. Joyous events surrounds you, perhaps a newborn will be added to your extended family. If your work record has been combinable, you may receive a promotion. Good job, Monkey!  Rooster: the luck of the month is auspicious. Resources and helpful people are coming in left and right. Be cautious however when you enter into a business or partnership – be selective on all accounts. Dog: the luck of this month is not so good. You may be feeling some anxiety, health problems, even some financial loss and worry. Give yourself breathing space, exhaustion figures heavily. Pig: you are in luck so keep a check on how you invest and spend your money. Refrain from being greedy. Create a health regime that supports your energy. Don’t take anything at face value or believe what is on the internet. If you request a cure from this forecast, I will ask you to honor the red envelope tradition. Have a great month, Zodiac friends!

Tuning The Heart Strings Of Your Partnership

“The Heart is a thousand stringed instrument, that can only be tuned with love.”
–Hafiz

Your heart only knows love. But when you are in overwhelm, anxiety or feeling frustration then stress takes over your heart and you lose your sense of connection. It happens so quickly that not only do you stop listening to your heart but also the heart of your partner.

HeartMath Institute’s 19 years of research sheds significant light on how negative thoughts affect your brain and body. During stress “when the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered, neural signals traveling from the heart to the brain affect your ability to think clearly, remember, learn, reason and make effective decisions.” This helps to explain when you act impulsively or make unwise decisions how conflict can arise. In contrast, positive emotions, joy, care and appreciation, create a stable patten and the heart’s input to the brain reinforces positive feelings and emotional stability.

If you find yourself in a constant spiral of negative energy, check for these design features in your home. I have selected common door details as a door symbolizes the mouth and that affects speech, communication and ultimately your heart.

Split at the front entry. One example: if you have a two level home and the stairway is slightly off to one side, one eye sees down a hallway and the other sees the stairs. It can adversely affect everything that is going on in the household as the brain is stimulated unevenly. This creates confusion and an inability to make decisions. Partners can move in opposite directions. An argument can easily get started. To adjust this, hang a crystal ball from the ceiling, directly over the railing post. Or place a plant on the landing, in front of the post.

Biting doors are doors that are slightly out of alignment. You may find them in hallways when two bedrooms are opposite or when a bedroom and bathroom are opposite each other. This design feature triggers conflict, anger and discord. To correct this, place an object on the wall next to the door frame so as to simultaneously draw both eyes to one spot as you exit either door.

Contrary doors open into a wall rather than the large part of a room (it can be any room but most common are front entry and bedroom) everyone in the house may be working hard. They may not be able to complete projects resulting in not enjoying the fruit of their labor. This feature leads to difficulty and relentless disappointment. Fodder for arguing or cold silence between partners. The Feng Shui cure is hang a mirror on the wall that is seen upon opening the door. It expands the space. If there is no room for a mire hang a crisp sounding bell on the door.

Arguing doors bump up against one another when they are opened (either the door knob or the frame). The bumping is like a clash of wills. It is especially detrimental at the front door sending  conflict into the interior of the home, affecting everyone who enters, and it even extends outside the house with whom they interact. The mundane solution is to re-hang the door or doors so that they do not touch. Or perform the Arguing Door Cure (nine red envelope cure).

Piercing Heart doors are three or more doors through which you could walk in a straight line. Together they act like an invisible barrier through a space, which in turn, can create a barrier between partners. The barrier can widen the longer the couple lives in the home. They may not be able to touch the heart of one another. Views become discordant, there may be illness and the family can disintegrate. To change the flow of strong Ch’i hang one or more crystal balls or wind chimes in the center of the rooms between the doors to slow down the energy and break down the invisible wall. Another option is available (nine red envelope cure).

Years ago Berry Kruijning of Crowning Communication shared with me valuable communication advice and I have never forgotten how powerfully effective it was and still is. There are three levels of listening:
Fake listening
Listening for facts
Ask open ended questions, listening for your partner’s feeling and needs. Listen at the heart level. When you are an empathetic listener, you are getting into the other person’s feelings. Be genuinely interested and you will break through the barrier of your conflict.

Relationship expert, Liz Higgins, shares that conscious communication, curiosity and creating a cozy ambience for intimacy (that gets a Feng Shui thumbs up) keeps love alive.

Feng Shui design increases life force and expands positive energy. When you and your partner sync up with the new space you’ve created, you entrain with each other. You also communicate at a higher frequency that helps nourish the intimacy that began as a flutter in your heart.

New Year. New Story.

“Tap the power inside yourself so that it may show up on the outside in what you say, what you do and how you do it.”
Lillian Too

Rise Up In The Year of the Fire Rooster.

The Chinese New Year is the most propitious event of the year that welcomes a fresh start. During the first weeks, the year is still unformed, impressionable and receptive to our intentions, expectations and wide-eyed guidance from our dreams. But how do we maintain our enthusiasm throughout the year? If you are like me and feel you see quicker results when your goals are nurtured with inspiration and diligence, I have a Chinese secret for you. Some years ago Professor Lin Yun, Master of BTB Feng Shui, taught his students there are three elements needed to master success. Deceptively simple yet very powerful these three aspects are: time, location and human factors. Throughout the year I write about the influence of location – Feng Shui on human factors. But once a year I present on “time”  – Chinese Astrology. It’s my belief by sharing the Chinese Zodiac animals’ forecast it will spark a yin-yang balance and help you make accurate decisions on when to make your best move, when to rest and when to let your light shine.

Rat Thank your lucky stars that you have them because this new year you are in a mutually offensive relationship with the Rooster. These lucky stars will avert the bad luck present and steer you towards good fortune. Though your money luck will be fair, your acquisition of it can only be obtain through conventional means. It is not a year to speculate. You may experience a series of small illnesses but they do not cause you harm. The male Rat will not have as good of luck as the female Rat. Family harmony will be good. You will have Helpful People come to your assistance and work will be smooth but be mindful that scoundrels may be working behind your back to cause trouble. Be aware of “Peach Blossom Menace” (relationships with the opposite sex may lead to negative and harmful influences) and “Peach Blossom Disaster”  (circumstances could lead to injury, even bloodshed). Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; leap month, July 23- August 21; August 22-September 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Ox you will enjoy the auspicious luck of the Golden Triangle with the Rooster. There is a good chance for a promotion and advancement leading to a higher position and greater power this new year. Academic pursuits are favored and careers will see breakthroughs. Your wealth luck is good; but expect to receive it through conventional means. It is a year that you will be able to hold on to your fortune. There may be some health issues. Learn methods to relax your physical body and your mind. Scoundrels may be afoot, check your back and do not socialize with individuals of questionable character. Remember a harmonious family leads to success of everything. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; February 26-March 27; April 26-May 25; leap month, July 23- August 21; September 20-October 19; November 18-December 17 and December 18-January 16.

Tiger with lucky stars present in the Year of the Fire Rooster your career will flourish and you may experience breakthroughs. There will be happy celebrations in your home and the family will enjoy auspicious and smooth luck with good fortune. However there is one unpropitious star. Guard against lawsuits, entanglements and loss of wealth. Don’t gamble nor speculate and be cautious when making investments. There is the possibility of traffic accidents, perform “Driving Safely Cure”. You will find yourself traveling, finding assistance from Helpful People and there will be profits coming from a distant location. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; May 26-June 23; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21; October 20-November 17; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Rabbit is in direct conflict with the Year God. Your luck is undesirable, beware you may be living beyond your means. There will be obstacles to making money so much that you may have to sell your assets. There will be one circumstance after another–work turmoil, disputes, projects falling short of completion and scoundrels causing trouble behind your back– that you may throw up your hands. However your love life will be stable and your health will be good. It is a year, dear Hare to remain conservative, passive, modest and cautious. Be wise and play safe. You can perform “The Golden Cicada Sheds It’s Shell” beginning Chinese Lunar New Year’s eve for three consecutive nights but if you missed this opportunity you can do it at the new moon for the next 11 months. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21; October 20-November 17 and November 18-December 17.

Dragon You are in an auspicious position. Being Rooster’s “secret friend” gives you special status and the enjoyment of good luck this new year. And there are lucky stars in the ascendent. You will enjoy prosperity in all your professional endeavors and helpful people are readily available to assist you. It is a good time to map out your professional ambition and pursue it, start a new career, get married or relocate. However the flip side is some ill possibilities. Watch your health as you might overdo and be discerning with social functions, you may end up exhausting yourself. Your financial luck will come from conventional methods. Be cautious when investing and whom you befriend. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23, July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Snake You have the luck of the Three Harmony in the Year of the Rooster. Not only will your enterprises go as you wish but opportunities will be plentiful and helpful people will be available while fame and profited are expected. The flip side there will be discord in interpersonal relationships and and mental/physical fatigue from the pressures above. Your financial luck is pretty good. Remember to live within your means. Beware of “Peach Blossom Luck”. Be mindful of who you choose to date. Good lunar months are: February 26- March 27;  May 26-June-23; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19; and January 17-February 15.

Horse in a Rooster year will find their fortune fluctuating. You will experience highs and lows and life will feel unpredictable. It will be difficult to finish projects that are started. Be sincere in your efforts and have patience if circumstances become delayed. Luck for wealth sources will abound and it might be that you receive unexpected fortune. In regards to relationships and your emotions it could be a bumpy ride. Rabbit men be aware of women’s working behind your back and Peach Blossom Menace. There may be entanglement and false rumors. Be discerning about associating with those who have ill intent. Older Horses seek immediate medical attention when you become sick. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; April 26-May 25; June 24-July 22; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; September 20-October 19 and November 18-December 17.

Ram unfortunately you will experience more misfortune than good luck. The road ahead is full of encumbrances and uncertainties. There could be injuries, there could be death with a family member(s). However your social contacts will be a bright spot. You will feel bathed in the light of friendship and camaraderie with helpful people nearby to assist you. Develop your leadership capabilities. Rely on your capabilities. Practice patience and be forgiving. If you focus on stability and harmony you will experience peace. Be mindful of your family’s health conditions. If someone gets sick, seek immediate medical attention. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25;  May 26-June-23; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21 and November 18-December 17.

Monkey for you the year will have more difficulty than lucky circumstances. This is due to a lack of lucky stars. Main advise is be vigilant, misfortune could be around the corner. Travel will be on your agenda and lots of it. There might be legal disputes while you are on the road. Office politics might be pulling you in. Men beware of sex traps. Keep your nose out of any situation that smells like trouble. Good advise for the year is remain cautious, let your good judgement not your emotions guide your decisions. Be discerning when it comes to right and wrong, favor and detriment. It is a blessed year to get married, give birth, get promoted and have helpful people help you. Do not however switch careers. As far as resources, be conservative, cut your spending. Your one word mantra for the year, patience. Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23, June 24-July 23; July 23-August 21; September 20-October 19;  December 18-January 16 and January 17-February 15.

Rooster you are sitting in the Year God’s seat, it will be a hot seat. As you share the same zodiac as the year, it is considered clashing of the signs and your endeavors will not receive favor. “Even with all the lucky stars and powerful gods, there are just too many demons and evil forces out there to counter attack.” There are unexpected events, there may be bloodshed. Pay extra attention to your health and beware of accidents. Some Roosters who are officials will receive recognition while others who are on the payroll will receive financial luck. To appease the calamities of the year perform Appeasing the Tai Sui and Golden Cicada for three nights in a row beginning with Lunar New Year’s eve. If you missed this opportunity you can perform it every new moon until the end of the Year of the Fire Rooster. Good lunar months are: March 28-April 25; May 26-June-23; July 23-August 21; August 22-September 19; November 18-December 17 and January 17-February 15.

Dog the saying goes, “The Golden Rooster fights against the Jade Dog.” The Dog and Rooster are the most conflicting pairs. Watch out for robbery, financial loss, illness, trouble with the government , verbal dispute and gossip. Some residual health issues may trouble you or you may experience a prolonged illness. Your career shows a bright spot on the horizon and helpful people will come to your aid. Be patient, go with the flow, there may a punch or two but deflect them as a prize fighter deflects a right hook. To avert danger and increase safety, perform the Golden Cicada for three nights in a row beginning with Lunar New Year’s eve. If you missed this opportunity you can perform it every new moon until the end of the Year of the Fire Rooster. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25; February 26-March 27; April 26-May 25; May 26-June-23; July 23- August 21; November 18-December 17 and December 18-January 16.

Pig It is a year of feeling stabilized. There is a star called the Courier Horse, it influences travel. You can expect to have a full itinerary this year. You may get involved with work projects that do not bear results, pay attention when this begins to happen. Your work or your work situation or something at work could change. Be conservative in your finances as your money luck is not promising this year. “During the months of April and July there may be bloodshed,” so beware on the look out for traffic accidents and unlucky events. Pig is usually a fortunate sign. Remain low key and collect your resources so you will have them when the occasion arises. Good lunar months are: January 28-February 25;  February 26-March 27; March 28-April 25; May 26-June-23; June 24-July 23; July 23- August 21; November 18-December 17; December 18-January 16 and January 17-February 15

What To Practice Before Space Clearing.

“The very center of your heart is where life begins – the most beautiful place on earth.”
–Rumi

Have you noticed that what you do in a worried state affects the results and the people involved? Have you noticed the opposite? Results are by far more successful when you feel calm and clear. Before you cleanse your land of unwanted energy it makes sense to cleanse your heart. There is a simple and profound yogic gesture, a mudra, that is recognized in the west as a prayer posture. It nourishes your heart and calms your mind. It encourages connection first to yourself and then to the Divine in other. It is as universal and timeless as the Tao itself.

Mudra in Sanskrit means ‘seal’ or ‘sign’. Sacred hand gestures and whole body positions are mudras that invoke a prescribed inner state. The Anjali mudra, the prayer posture, is an offering, in fact the word means offering. It is the practice of seeing the Divine in all of creation. When we bring our hands to our heart, we are meeting in the middle. It positions us at the core of our being. The roots of BTB Feng Shui stem from Hinduism. Many of the BTB Feng Shui mediations and adjustments on the cosmic scale, place the human, the mediator, in the middle, between Heaven and Earth.

When you bring your hands together you return to your heart. Literally you connect the right and left hemispheres of the brain. In yogic practice the energetic heart is visualized as a lotus at the center of the chest.  “Anjali mudra nourishes this lotus heart with awareness, gently encouraging it to open as water and light do a flower.”– Shiva Rea, The Yoga Journal

Before purifying the land and space clearing with Feng Shui ceremonies, it is essential to nourish the lotus heart within you. It is then easier to be present and joyous with the ceremonies. The salutation involving the Anjali mudra “aligns your mind (awareness), feeling (heart) and actions (body).” The BTB method that incorporates this yogic gesture is The Purification of Negative Karmas. We begin with stretching our arms wide and then bring our palms together, holding the Anjali mudra over our crown chakra or sahasrara. This posture is accompanied by the chant, Om. As the sound reverberates in the space, we gently bring our awareness and palms to our mouth/throat, vocalizing the sound, Ah. Next lowering our palms to our heart chakra or anahata, suspending them in this place we express Hum. Completing the cycle here, we bring our palms together briefly and then cast our hands down our sides to the Earth with the request that all karmas are purified rapidly, the sound we utter is Shia. This is repeated two more cycles with the second cycle removing negative karma from the body, speech, mind. The third cycle involves releasing bad luck and sick chi and finish by inviting virtuous deeds and positive karma to blossom rapidly. This purification is a way of bridging inner and out experience; it can cool the fires of stress or when you feel reactionary. From here you can begin any activity from a place of connectedness. This purification stabilizes your body and mind before performing a space blessing. With peace and clarity your land or home receives your deepest intentions.

Harvest The Best In Your Life – Feng Shui Tips

“To everything there is a season and a time and purpose under Heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Here in Portland, Oregon, the leaves are a blast of crimson and gold. The fields were harvested weeks ago and we’ve begun to set the table with hearty soups, squashes and vibrant root vegetables. Autumn reminds us to wind down. Mother earth is letting go. We pull in and stock up as the cool, crisp mornings prompt us to winter’s imminent arrival. For humans, we take into account what we have accumulated and appreciate what we’ve accomplished. The abundance of summer has been assimilated and now it is time to integrate the wisdom gained from the events over the year. Fall, the Metal element in the Five Elements, lays the space to refine your relationship to the Earth, to yourself, to your home and harvest the best in your life. Here are four tips to create a spacious, harmonized body, mind and home this Fall.

Conserve In Autumn your body wants to conserve energy. As you draw inward, you are being pulled outward by the same responsibilities as in other times of the year. Uplift your energy and harvest the best in your life by taking time to give some oxygen to your thoughts and emotions. This nurtures  your Ch’i and will place you ahead of the holiday triggers that stir up conflict. But if discord is already snooping about, create a spacious and clear mind with an orange peel bath. Cut nine circles (skin only) of one orange and wash your entire body, even your head. Make it a ritual for nine consecutive nights for good measure. The warm, fresh, sweetness of orange conveys joy and positivity, dispersing moodiness and irritability. Letting go in this positive way encourages peace of mind. This is what gives the orange its reputation as embodying “good luck”.

Clear out As the leaves fall and you are bringing out your warm, snuggly sweaters and rain wear, this is a good to time clear out unused items in your closet(s). If you find it’s not easy getting started, Professor Lin Yun shared this valuable piece of advice. “Speak to the item. Thank it for faithfully serving you.” Then say, “I appreciate you but now it is time to part ways.” By liberating the space in your closet(s) you send the message that you are in tune with the best in your life and ready for the prospects coming your way.

Clean Now that you are refreshed and have more energy, you can turn your attention to creating spaciousness in your home. You are probably familiar with spring cleaning but the shift from warm to cool temperatures encourages mold to propagate and your health is likely to be compromised. I encourage a good fall clean especially the stove the seat of our wealth and family unity. And what’s more, fall cleaning is an act of completion of the four previous seasons (winter, spring, summer and the middle season of harvest time). This could also be the perfect time to convert to green cleaning products, even make your own. Here is one recipe for an all-purpose cleaner from Rodale’s Organic Life: 9 parts water to 1 part white vinegar. I like to add rosemary essential oil to the cleaner. The plant is considered to “renew enthusiasm and bolster self-confidence.” As an herb of remembrance, it helps us not only to recall loved ones but to remember our own true path and for me, to remember to harvest the best in my life.

Consider Some folks live without a roof over the head nor sleep in a bed. Consider passing along some of your good fortune. Lend a helping hand when you see a person in need. Kindness ripples out and has a positive effect on the world.
